We are using a HPLC by Sykam with FPLC columns by Pharmacia. Works
fine for us. We can do anything (at least that's what I think) we
could do with a FPLC system. If we really need HPLC we just switch
columns :-)

Some people claim that the disadvantage of a HPLC is the contact
between metal and buffer in the pump. I think that this might
be the only advantage of a complete FPLC system. (To be honest,
there is another disadvantage of our system: if you don't be careful
you can easily blow up a FPLC column -- happened to us more
than once).
