Has anyone out there tried to crystalize HMG I or HMG II ?
These are small nuclear DNA binding proteins that have been implicated as
transcription initiation factors as well as flags for certain types of DNA
damage. A partial structure of the DNA binding region (the HGM box) has
been solved using NMR techniques by Jean Thomas and others. These
proteins are relatively easy to purify and I am wondering if anyone has
attempted to crystallize them.
Any information on HMG structure analysis would be appreciated.
