QUESTION: native and deriv from one xtal

We've just had the experience in our lab where we collect a high resolution
native (1.7A) and two high-ish resolution derivatives (one good, one bad)
off the same xtal and (apparently) solved the xtal structure using MIR and
the program SQUASH (the latter being very powerful in this case).

Despite the improbability of this scenario, I was wondering if anyone else was
aware of similar cases where xtal structures were determined by MIR from one
xtal. I'll summarize any email responses.
