Hello: Is anyone aware of studies done on why some proteins will pack to form needles? Is the needle habit a packing involving the least number of specific interactions (salt bridges, and hydrogen bonds), and the most non specific-interactions (van der Waals, and dispersion forces) ? Thanks for any help.
