Getting better xtals

Dear xtal-netters,

I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas as to how to solve this crystallization problem:

I'm getting "stellate" bunches of crystals, i.e. a bunch of very thin needles
coming off of a central point.  It seems to prefer pH~5.6 and molar(NH4)2SO4.

As I up the pH and decrease [salt] I get fewer and bigger stars, but no discrete
xtals.  Is this a nucleation problem, i.e. should I use compressed air to blow
off dust?  Any other ideas?
