Incorporation of mercury into nucleotides

Hello,

A while back I recalled seeing an article describing the use of
mercurated DNA to phase a (large?) protein-DNA complex.  Unfortunately, I 
cannot seem to find a reference for it anywhere.  Would anyone have
this ref. handy (or have handy information on incorporating heavy atoms
other than halogens into DNA?).
