Two postdoctoral positions, one in macromolecular crystallography and one in
protein biochemistry, are available immediately in the Section of Biochemistry,
Molecular and Cell Biology. The X-ray crystallographer will participate in a
variety of ongoing projects including the structural analysis of enzymes
of purine and pyrimidine metabolism and thiamine biosynthesis. Resources
include
both conventional and synchrotron X-ray instrumentation (CHESS), extensive
computing and graphics facilities, the Cornell Theory Center (national
supercomputing center), modern biochemical equipment and a stimulating
intellectual environment. The biochemist will provide purified proteins
for
both ongoing and new projects with an opportunity to participate in the X-ray
analysis. Located in the heart of the Finger Lake Region of New York, the Ithaca
area provides a variety of year-round outdoor activities. Salary is
