Protein crystallographers,
Please respond directly to me and I'll summarize results:
1. Have you attempted to crystallize a His tag fusion proteins WITH the His(n)
tag intact?
2. Were any crystals observed?
3. If unsuccessful, did removing the His tag (either genetically or
proteolytically) give crystals?
4. How long was the His tag plus any "extra" intervening residues before the
termini of the encoded protein?
Many thanks for your time. I will also check out the NIST crystallization
database and see if I can get any hits.
