The beta-strand arrows do not pass through the CA positions (except at
the ends), by their very nature. So it is difficult to get proper
connections between a side-chain and the strand arrow. The suggestion
about including CA atoms as CPK is possibly useful.

This is the solution I use for this problem.
Just a minor comment: The helix representation in MolScript *does* go
through the CA positions, so the problem does not arise with helices.
