for 1D tra funs, use XPLO2D
for 2D and 3D tra funs, use MAPMAN
both produce simple plot files which can be viewed
or converted into postscript with O2D

MAPMAN is part of RAVE (and also CCP4 nowadays)
XPLO2D and O2D are in the XUTIL package on the
O ftp server

all these programs free for academics
