GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIP:
COMPUTATIONAL CRYSTALLOGRAPHY OR POLYMER PHYSICS
Purdue University
Whistler Center for Carbohydrate Research and
Computational Science and Engineering Program
West Lafayette, IN 47907-1160
Attention: Dr. R.P. Millane
Graduate assistantship available for study towards the Ph.D.
degree. This position would suit someone interested in applying
a sound background in theoretical/computational physics or
engineering to image reconstruction or structure-property
relationships in industrially important biopolymers. The
research project will involve theoretical and computational
x-ray crystallography (Fourier methods, diffraction theory,
algorithms) and/or polymer modeling (statistical mechanics,
Monte Carlo simulation, network formation). Applicants
should be well-qualified and have superior GPA and GRE scores.
Interested individuals should contact Dr. R.P. Millane at
rmillane at purdue.edu. Purdue University is an AA/EOE.
