low resolution data

Dear Colleagues,

Has anyone published any systematic study on the importance of low
resolution data for phase refinement via solvent flattening? I have
solved the structure of a protein with SIRAS data collected at room
temp. The corresponding low temperature, synchrotron data give much
better phasing statistics but has ~20% of its low resolution (inf-8Ang)
data missing, because of overloaded reflections.
I understand the inportance of low order reflection to define the shape
of the molecule, but has anyone looked further...?
