TWO POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIPS
PROTEIN CRYSTALLOGRAPHY
EMBL OUTSTATION HAMBURG, GERMANY.
The EMBL Hamburg Outstation utilises synchrotron radiation for
research in structural biology. The Outstation currently operates
seven beam lines, among them four in protein crystallography.
These beam lines are used by about 400 external visitors per year
and local research groups. The Outstation provides a stimulating
environment for three research groups in protein crystallography.
The group of Dr. Matthias Wilmanns is interested in structure and
function of signalling proteins, the muscle protein titin and enzymes
of the histidine biosynthesis pathway. The local synchrotron
facilities and the molecular biology and biochemistry laboratory of
the Outstation are available for these projects. There is access
to all services and scientific equipment of the main laboratory in
Heidelberg.
The candidate should be experienced in protein crystallography.
Skills in molecular biology and protein chemistry will be of advantage.
The postdoctoral fellowships will be available immediately and will be
initially for two years. The salary will be according to EMBL rates.
Closing date: 15.07.97
