	A research assistant position is available in the School of Biological
Sciences (http://sgi.bls.umkc.edu), University of Missouri-Kansas City
(http://www.umkc.edu).  The primary responsibilities of the position includes
the crystallization of biological molecules for research laboratories at both
UMKC and the University of Kansas Medical Center, located in Kansas City, KS.
 Minimum requirement is a B.S. in biochemistry or related field.  Experience in
general laboratory procedures, including solution preparation, protein
purification, crystallization, and/or computer use desired.   Good
communication
skills required.


	The applicant will be a UMKC employee, and will work in the X-ray
Crystallography Facility at UMKC.  The facility is equipped with a Rigaku
rotating anode x-ray generator, a Mar phosphoimaging plate detector, and an
ADSC low temperature device.  The facility has 3 SGI workstations, a Protein
Solutions dynamic light scattering instrument, and is housed in a lab
maintained at constant temperature and humidity.  Kansas City has a population
of approximately 1.5 million, and straddles the state boundaries of Kansas and
Missouri.  The city has excellent social, cultural, and educational
