Greetings.
The structurally minded may wish to check out the April 1997 issue of
Discover magazine. Pages 32-33 contain a cartoon by Larry Gonick
(artist of "The Cartoon Guide to Genetics" and other cartoon guides and
a contributing editor of Discover) entitled "Portrait of a Problem"
which is about protein folding. Fred Richards, on the topic of
X-ray crystallography, is quoted as saying "there are those of us who
like it". Ken Dill also appears.
Besides the folding cartoon, the April issue also contains an article on
page 19 about the discovery of a Neanderthal tuba. You decide which one
is the April's fool joke.
