PhD - Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Pharmaceutical
Sciences
University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, U.K.
We are currently seeking a pharmacist, or other suitably qualified
graduate, with a
first or second class honours degree for a PhD project in solid state
chemistry/
crystallography.
The PhD would be carried out over four years with the student spending 25%
of the time on specified teaching duties within the Department.
For several years now, the Solid State Group in Pharmaceutical Sciences has
worked closely with the ISIS facility at CLRC's Rutherford Appleton
Laboratory.
ISIS is the world's most powerful pulsed spallation neutron source and the
collaboration has spawned a wide ranging program of basic research
which includes:
-> high-resolution molecular structure refinement using single crystal and
powder
neutron diffraction
-> ab initio structure determination from neutron and X-ray powder
diffraction data.
