Will be involved in NCI-sponsored research on the rational design and
synthesis of inhibitors of enzymes critical to the progression of cancer
or AIDS.
Will conduct x-ray crystallographic investigations of HIV-1 protease and
drug resistant mutants complexed with inhibitor, cathepsin D, and other
target proteins and complexes of potential interest for structure-based
drug design and structural biology.
Ph.D. in an appropriate field with 0-3 years of related laboratory
experience, particularly in cloning, preparation and crystallization of
recombinant proteins; protein-nucleic acid complexes; viruses and viral
proteins; along with experience in the theory and practice of
macromolecular x-ray crystallography.
