Postdoctoral position and Graduate Assistantship
X-ray diffraction and molecular modeling studies on
polysaccharides
Research involves the determination of the
three-dimensional structures of industrially
useful polysaccharides. The goal is to examine
and understand the structure-property relationships
in these macromolecules, and the synergism in mixed
polysaccharides. The researcher will use x-ray fiber
diffraction and computer-modeling techniques to solve
the structural problems.
Capabilities supporting these studies include state
of the art magnetic resonance and microscopy.
Postdoctoral candidates must have a Ph.D in Physics,
Biophysics or a related field with practical knowledge
in x-ray crystallography.
Candidates for Graduate study leading to a Ph.D degree
must have a high first class, Master's or Baccalaureate
honors, degree in Physical science.
