Small Molecule Drug Discovery

The Small Molecule Drug Discovery group at Genetics Institute is housed
in a separate 44,000 sq. ft. facility, located one mile from corporate
headquarters. The facility is equipped with the latest technology for
modern drug discovery including a 600MHz NMR, X-Ray lab, Computational
chemistry, High throughput screening and Medicinal chemistry. The
facility houses 50 scientists engaged in the discovery of novel
treatments of inflammatory disorders such as Asthma and Rheumatoid
arthritis. The interdisplinary team has established itself as a leader
in Selectin biology and the role of cytosolic phospholipase A2 in the
production of eicosanoids.

The X-ray laboratory has two X-ray generators, an Raxis II area
detector, an Raxis IV, X-streams and multiple SGI workstations. The
laboratory is supported by dedicated molecular biology and protein
biochemistry groups. Following positions are available in the X-ray
crystallography group:

Staff Scientist: Requires a Ph.D. and a successful postdoctoral
research in macromolecular crystallography.
