spider venom

I am a high school science teacher in Moore, OK.  I have a student
interested in the treatment of spider bites by means of a stun gun.  This is
a documented type of treatment, and we are wondering why it works.

We were thinking that maybe we could get a sample of brown recluse venom and
have its structure examined before and after being zapped by a stun gun.
Does this sound completely insane?  Would it be possible?
