POST-DOCTORAL POSITION. CRYSTALLOGRAPHIC STUDIES ON DRUGS WHICH
INTERFERE WITH TELOMERASE ACTIVITY

A postdoctoral position is available immediately for two/three years, in
the group of Macromolecular Chemistry in Barcelona. The lab is well
equipped with state of the art crystallographic equipment, computing and
graphic workstations. The group has access to synchrotron facilities.
The goal of the current project will be the crystallization, data
collection and subsequent structure determination of
oligonucleotide/drug complexes. The project is embedded in an exciting
structure-based drug design collaborative European network.
The network consists of six groups from Great Britain, Italy and Spain,
and combines areas of expertise ranging from organic chemistry to
biochemistry and biophysics as well as biological assays. Details on the

Successful applicants should be less than 35 years of age and hold a
Ph.D. degree in sciences. Experience in macromolecular crystallography
including crystallization, data collection, data processing, model
building, refinement and analysis will be required. Eventulally
candidates for a Ph.D. degree will also be considered.
The position is funded for initially two years, an extension is
possible. Applicants should be citizens of an EU member state or an
Associated State. The gross salary for postdoctoral fellows is 43000 EUR
/ year, from which about one third will be deducted for medical and
social charges (unemployement, retirement, etc.).
