There is a new page on installing the latest Shake'n'Bake 2.1 (SnB)
under Linux. This has been tested on Redhat 6.2 and Mandrake
Linux 7. (It should work for any modern Linux installation)
http://www.ccp14.ac.uk/tutorial/snb/snb_linux.html
If you tried running SnB using the default Kaffe Java Run Time
Engine that comes as an option with most Linux distributions,
SnB would not be happy. (Thanks to Jason Rappleye for help
with this)
-----
This includes going through:
installing bzip2 (to extract the Java Run Time Engine)
installing and configuring the JDK and JRE 1.1.8 Java Run
Time Engine from www.blackdown.org (this is the version SnB likes)
installing and configuring SnB under Linux (the easiest bit)
-----
Eny errors or problems with the tutorial greatfully received.
Lachlan.
