Update: Xtal Software Demonstrations Sessions at the IUCr Geneva 2002 Congress

Following is the latest information on the Software Fayre
at the IUCr Geneva Congress (Thursday 8th August until Wednesday 
14th August 2002).  Spare slots are still available for booking
formal presentations on the Win98 and Redhat 7.3 Linux PCs. (this 
includes a computer projector and microphone system)

As of this date, formal software sessions confirmed (and their presenters)

Protein / Computational:
  - CCTBX/Phenix                (Ralf Grosse-Kunstleve)
  - Shake-and-Bake (SnB) and the SnB-PHASES Interface (BnP) 
                                (Charles Weeks and William Furey)

Single Crystal:
  - Crystals Single Crystal Suite (Richard Cooper and David Watkin)


Indexing from Powder Diffraction Data
 - Crysfire 2002 powder indexing suite (Robin Shirley)
 - Chekcell for Windows powder indexing helper tool (Lachlan Cranswick)


Structure Solution from Powder Diffraction Data:
  - Fox (Radovan Cerny) 
  - Maud (Luca Lutterotti)


Materials Analysis/Texture Thin Films/Rietveld/Microstructure

During times not booked for formal presentations, congress participants
can play for themselves on the range of software.

There will be a much greater range of software installed that people can
play with (Shelx, Jana, Platon/System S, Crunch, WinGX, Dirdif, Sirware
(Sir97/EXPO/Quanto), Shake-and-Bake (SnB) and the SnB-PHASES Interface
(BnP), ESPOIR, CAOS, GSAS-EXPGUI, Marching Cubes, BCA Educational Model
building material, etc, etc, etc). Participants may like to bring data
with them on CD-ROM (or floppy disk) to try out on the various programs.

If anything is missing that you would like to see installed for either
the Windows or Linux PCs, please Email.  Permissions willing - it will 
be done.
