Pseudo-symmetry detection using self-rotation function?

Hi,
I suspect that a protein I am studying is a B-propeller but I am
unsure how many repeats it contains (6 vs 7). I have a native data
set to 2.9A and would like to know if it is possible to detect the
symmetry of the propeller by a self-rotation function search for peaks
@ 60 and 51.4 deg. If possible, how sensitive to the resolution would
this be? Are there any parameters I should be especially careful with
(integration radius, radius of removed patterson sphere, etc.)?
Thanks,
Ian Berke
