Seventh International School on the Crystallography of Biological
Macromolecules
Como (Italy), May 10-14, 2003
ORGANIZERS
Keith Wilson (York, UK) (keith at ysbl.york.ac.uk)
Kristina Djinovic Carugo (Trieste, Italy) (djinovic at elettra.trieste.it)
PURPOSE AND ORGANIZATION OF THE WORKSHOP
The workshop will be open to about 200 participants and will focus on the
application of X-ray crystallographic methods to the study of proteins and
nucleic acids, with emphasis on the latest developments.
The program will include lectures on protein expression, crystallisation,
data collection and processing, synchrotron sources, phasing, map
modification and interpretation, data mining, new structures. It is
expected that several of the contributions will come from participants,
who are thus encouraged to propose a title for a poster or oral
contribution in their application letter.

LOCATION
The Workshop will be held at Villa Olmo, Cernobbio (Como), Italy.
GENERAL INFORMATION
www.crystallography2003.it
The meeting will last from Saturday, May 10th, 2003, 3 p.m. to Wednesday,
May 14th, 12 a.m. Participants should therefore arrive on Friday evening
or Saturday morning. As it is a major goal of the organisers to provide
an opportunity to young crystallographers to attend the workshop, much
freedom is given to the participants in what they want to spend on board.
The cheapest accommodation is sharing a double room with shower, for about
Euro 50.-per night per person. A fee of 300 Euro will be required for
conference material, lunches and beverages during the breaks. Those who
need financial support in order to be able to participate, should indicate
so in their application, and include a confirmation letter from their
group leader or head of department. We hope to be able to provide partial
support for some participants, but this will depend on the level of
sponsorship which will not be known until near the meeting date. Please
address any request for additional information to either one of the
organisers.
APPLICATION
Application, including a short C.V., proposed title for scientific
contributions (either oral or poster communications), abstract and any
additional relevant information should be sent before March 10th, 2003 to:
