Macromolecular Crystallographer staff position available at IMCA-CAT at the
Advanced Photon Source

Applicants are being sought for the position of Macromolecular
Crystallographer available at the Industrial Macromolecular Crystallography
Association Collaborative Access Team (IMCA-CAT), a high-throughput
structural biology facility located at the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne
National Laboratory in Argonne, IL.

Position is to maintain and extend the crystallographic program of the
facility and provide user support for scientists from the structural biology
community who conduct research using the IMCA-CAT synchrotron beamlines.
Responsibilities include:  providing user support by training and assisting
researchers in using the IMCA-CAT beamlines and biochemistry laboratory and
advising reserarchers in designing strategies for macromolecular data
collection and processing; growing crystals; conceiving, designing and
conducting experiments to validate the beamlines and associated equipment;
maintaining experiment end station instrumentation (ccd detectors,
goniostats, beam stops, sample changing robots, sample cryocoolers, etc.);
maintaining the biochemistry laboratory; contributing to the development of
new methods and automation for high-throughput data acquisition.

Ph.D. in related discipline. Experience in macromolecular crystallography.
Experience at a synchrotron research facility is highly desirable.
