problems with sporulation

I am attempting to dissect tetrads of three diploid strains which I have made. 
 I have only been able to produce tetrads once after many months of trying and 
remaking all my media and digestion enzymes.  I am becoming very frustrated, 
to say nothing of the headache I have from looking through the microscope for 
hours and hours.  I would appreciate any advice or sympathy.
