   But this wouldn't explain why he's getting no spores. I'm assuming,
of course, that this is a heterozygote. Two of the spores in a standard
sporulation should not be dependant on gal, even if all four contain the
plasmid. (It was a plasmid, wasn't it? I'm forgetting already.)
