carnitine biosynthesis mutant?

Due to redundancy in the function of the acyl-carnitine carrier and the
citrate carrier (both move acetyl-CoA out of the mitochondrial matrix) I am
seeking a strain with a defect in carnitine biosynthesis, to eliminate the
carnitine pathway for acetyl-CoA export from mitochondria. Do any of you
have such a mutant you would be willing to share? If not, do you know if
such a mutant exists? Thanks.
