Check out Pesole et al, Nucleic Acids Research 16(5) 1715-1728, which
tabulates codon usage of 59 "highly expressed" and 99 "lowly expressed"
yeast genes (17237 and 19745 codons, respectively). You can also make
your own tables, using relevant genes (the gene to be engineered, gene
family members, etc.) with GCG's CODONFREQUENCY. Also useful for
engineering is GCG's BACKTRANSLATE.
