                       FACULTY POSITION - MOLECULAR GENETICS
                            THE OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY

   The Department of Molecular Genetics at The Ohio State University is
initiating a search for two tenure track faculty members at the Assistant
Professor level.  We are primarily interested in applicants who are using
molecular genetic approaches to study important topics in molecular, cell and
developmental biology in yeast, C. elegans, zebra fish, mice, and humans.
Exceptional applicants using other eukaryotic experimental systems will also
be considered.

   A highly competitive recruiting package is available, which
includes an attractive (hard money) salary, new or newly renovated laboratory
space and substantial funds for equipment purchase and initial operating
expenses.  The Ohio State University is undergoing a major expansion in the
Molecular Life Sciences which will involve the hiring of at least 30 new
faculty over the next four years.  The Department of Molecular Genetics will
play a central role in this expansion.

   The Ohio State University is the flagship institution of the state's higher
education system.  It is located in the state capital, Columbus, which is a
growing, yet highly affordable metropolitan area of about 1.3 million people.
Columbus has been ranked by Newsweek as one of the country's best places to
live and work.

research experience, and a statement of the nature of the planned independent
research program.  Applicants should also arrange to have at least three
