This comes from Don Ennis of the Biology Department at USL. They have a
job search on for a tenure track faculty, develop active research,
extramural funding, teach undergrads/grads etc. etc. An ad appeared
recently in Science. Rather than retype it, I am just including the
relevant part along with an additional descriptor that Don sent along:

Eukaryotic Microbiology-preferred research areas include the physiology,
biochemistry or molecular biology of microfungi or yeasts.

Applicants with strong research programs utilizing A. nidulans, N. crassa,
S. cerevisiae, S. pombe, U. maydis or other "model" fungal systems are
expecially encouraged to apply. In addition to offering graduate degrees,
the Biology Department also offers undergraduate degrees in biology and
microbiology. Due to the retirement schedules of faculty involved in the
microbiology cirriculum, the microbiology searches this year and next will
be priorities. The applicant would have teaching responsibilities for an
advanced microbiology course as well as participate in the graduate
curriculum.

Applicants should submit cirriculum vitae, selected reprints, a concise
statement of research goals, and names, addresses and telephone numbers of
threee referees. Review of applications will begin 15 January 1995 (they
must mean 1996) and continue until positions are filled. Direct
application to: Faculty Development Search Coordinator, Department of
Biology, University of Southwestern Lousiana, Lafayette LA 70504-2451.
