Doug Basset (NCBI) has provided the web address of a collection of yeast/
human homologs. Another usefull resource is available that allows inter-
active queries to find EST homologs. It is based on a powerfull index
structure (HPT, see Mewes and Heumann LNCS 937, p 261-285, 1995). The
up-to-date EST databases (6 frame translations) are compared to the
latest version of the yeast sequence database at MIPS. The address of
the server is:

www.mips.biochem.mpg.de/mips/yeast/pub_y2hu_intro.html

Please note that slow data transfer from the US is caused by insufficient
bandwith over the Atlantic and not by slow local systems. Connection to
the interface is provided by a gateway (i.e. a program is called to per-
form the computation). Please don't hesitate to send your questions/
suggestions.
