POSTDOCTORAL POSITION

A position is available for a postdoctoral molecular biologist to
study protein splicing factors in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae
in the laboratory of Jean Beggs. Experience in yeast genetics and
molecular biology would be deal for this post. Expertise in the
analysis of nucleic acid-protein interactions would also be
appropriate.
This laboratory specialises in the analysis of nuclear pre-mRNA
splicing, using a combination of genetic and biochemical
approaches to characterise protein splicing factors and RNA-protein
interactions (e.g. Cooper et al., 1995, EMBO J. 14:2066-2075;
Teigelkamp et al., 1995, EMBO J.14:2602-2612). Accommodation is in
new laboratories built and equipped to a very high standard.
The post will be funded by the Wellcome Trust for 23 months in the
first instance, with salary in the range stlg14,319 - stlg21,519 p.a.
(under review; starting salary no higher than stlg18,985).
