Hello out there -
I am hoping that someone on this list works on yeast GPI proteins and/or endocytosis in yeast. I work w/ a human GPI protein & have a few simplistic questions...conjecture is welcome in the replies!
1) Will yeast endocytose cell surface GPI proteins? Do they have the right 'machinery' to do so?
2) I know that the signal sequences required for yeast GPI attachment have been studied. How homologous are these sites to humam/mouse/hamster GPI signal sequences?
Please feel free to contact me directly or respond on the list. Any pointers to articles that I have missed due to insufficient caffeine levels would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Robyn
