media question

Does anyone know what are the physiological differences between yeast
(cerevisiae) grown in liquid rich media (YPD) versus synthetic (SDC)?  I
know they grow more slowly and reach a lower max density.  I was wondering
if there's been any work done on changes in gene expression in each type
of media.  Thanks
