In the below post there's a typo. The ORF for SNM1, the DNA repair
protein, is YMR137c. The ORF for SNM1', the RNAse MRP protein
component, is YDR478w. Sorry for any confusion.
Thanks,
Kara

Subject: SNM1/PSO2 Gene name change
Hello,
In SGD, the name of ORF YMR478w is SNM1, and ORF YDR478w is
SNM1'. Because both of these ORFS were originally
named the same thing, we used an "'" to distinguish them.
However, this has generated some confusion. We would like to
avoid this confusion by changing YMR478w to PSO2, an alternate
name used in the literature. YDR478w will then become SNM1. If
there are any objections to this name change, please let me know.
Thanks,
