Choosing parent strains

We're in the process of setting up a mutant screen and want to choose
GOOD parent strains to use. Specifically we would like them to have lots
of markers, differ from each other by one marker, mate and sporulate
WELL. As far as we can tell the published YPH strains do not differ in
markers so arent useful for this purpose.We would be grateful for
anyones suggestions of what strains have worked for them .Thank you.
