POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN CHROMATIN STRUCTURE AND EPIGENETIC REGULATION
OF GENE EXPRESSION

Two postdoctoral positions are available immediately at the Cold Spring
Harbor Laboratory to study the epigenetic control of transcriptional
silencing in fission yeast. The presence of large heterochromatin
domains and polycomb-related chromodomain proteins in fission yeast
makes it more akin to mammalian systems yet with powerful genetics. Our
research uses combination of genetics, cell molecular biology and
biochemistry to study the role of trans-acting factors (including
chromodomain proteins Swi6 and Clr4), histone modifications and DNA
replication proteins, such as DNA polymerase alpha in the propagation of
epigenetic states (see CELL 101:307-317). Experience in the fields of
yeast genetics, molecular biology or chromatin protein analysis is
preferred.

Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory offers a competitive postdoctoral salary,
a comprehensive benefits package, and an excellent work environment. To
apply please send a curriculum vitae, description of research
experience, and two letters of reference to:
