Hi Yeasters
Can anybody give me some advice? I am conducting a mutation rate experiment using S. cerevisiae. My strains are Ade+ His4- and I am looking for prototrophs on a His- plate. Strangely a good number of my prototrophs appear red like an Ade2- mutant. I have searched the literature and I can't find any evidence of linkage (genetic or biochemical) between Ade2 and His4. Any suggestions?
thanks
