I am working with Dr Wayne P Wahls in the department of Biochemistry
and Molecular biology at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences,
Little Rock. I am looking for a postdoctoral position in molecular
biology of yeast in the general areas of signal transduction,
transcription, DNA-protein or protein-protein interactions. I am
specialized in the above areas. I am open to consider other related
areas as well. I am working on a research project to study the bZIP
proteins. bZIP proteins are the components of signal transduction
pathway which respond to different kind of extra and intra-cellular
stress responses and regulate downstream signals. Some of the family
members (e.g. vFos and vJun) are oncogenic. I am studying all the bZIP
proteins in this organism to see how these interact to each other, how
they are regulated, how they find their binding partners. Recently we
have demonstrated that ATF1 and PCR1 bZip proteins are involved in
cross talk between MAPK and cAMP pathways JBC 2004). ATF1 and PCR1 is
a hetrodimeric protein binds to M26 site and chromatin remodeling
occurs meiotically around M26 site. We have published two papers and I
will be first author on two more papers. I have very good training in
molecular genetics, biochemistry and protein-protein interactions. I
have very good publications as well. I believe that because of my
enthusiasm and motivation to learn, I will be a good asset to the
group. Interested People may contact me for my detailed CV and other
interests at
