I am looking for information on what induces hatching in zebrafish. I
understand that low oxygen tension may be the triggering mechanism in
salmonids but I cannot find any references as to whether this same
mechanism occurs in zebrafish. This question is in relation to some
toxicity studies we are conducting with dioxins and are wondering whether
hypoxia may play a role in contributing to the dioxin toxicity during fish
early life stage development.
Thanks in advance for any information.\
