Dear Colleagues,

I wish to determine the level of interest for a potential small
NIH-sponsored meeting between a core of zebrafish investigators and
people outside zebrafish who are asking scientific questions that might
be addressed using zebrafish as a model system. It would be a
potentially exciting way to learn about other areas of research, and to
develop collaborations that would otherwise not occur. The starting
points are

1) Topics: main focus cancer; other possible topics: cell-automonous
functions and organogenesis.

2) Location: Washington, D.C. (more expensive and central) or Hershey
(less central, cheaper)

3) Time: fall (In conjunction with a regional zebrafish meeting?)

4) Format: very short talks (15 min) about each person's work with the
intent of sharing information with scientists outside individual fields,
for there to be lots of discussion time.

If interested, please provide contact information (name, address, phone,

fax, email), your reason for wanting to be involved, personal interests,
and suggestions or preferences on any of the above.
