Postdoctoral Research Position

A three year Postdoctoral position funded by the Muscular Dystrophy
Group is available from the 1 October 1998 in the laboratory of Dr Peter
D. Currie within the Developmental Genetics Section of the MRC Human
Genetics Unit in Edinburgh.  The project aim is to understand the role
of secreted peptides in inducing structural muscle proteins within the
developing zebrafish myotome.  Applicants should have a background in
developmental and molecular biology.  Experience with zebrafish as a
model system is preferred but not essential.  The laboratory is fully
equipped for zebrafish development biology including a recently
completed state of the art 600 tank aquarium.

Starting salary will be in the range stlg17,500-stlg22,000 subject to age and
