skin/scale regeneration

Hi,

I've just read the information you have on the regeneration of fins in
zebra danio. Do you have any idea whether skin can regenerate from a
flesh wound and whether scales will regrow in the area of the wound. If
it does regenerate are the cells which regenerate of a different nature
as in human scar tissue ? I have a green severum ( heros severus ) which
has got into an altercation with an oscar and has a large (1" diameter)
wound down to the muscle tissue along the lateral line. The inflamation
has gone down and he has resumed courting activity so it has had little
effect on his behaviour. He is relatively immature at 4" in length.
