Zebrafish Facility Nursery Manager position

The University of Oregon Zebrafish Facility wants to hire a full time
employee to manager the facility nursery. This person should be familiar
with raising baby fish, zebrafish husbandry, and the functioning and
maintenance of flow-through and recirculating water systems, and
biological filtration. This job requires a bachelor's degree and
availability for sporadic evening, weekend, and holiday work. Primary
responsibilities will include managing the zebrafish nursery where
embryonic and larval fish are raised. Skill in fabrication, using PVC,
wood, and metal as will as glass drilling, gluing, and plastic welding
is useful but not essential. Additional tasks could include breeding,
feeding, maintaining, and raising zebrafish, and preparing food.
Repetitive motions, heavy lifting, working in warm humid areas, making
up of exact solutions, computer use, and general trouble shooting skills
are required. The starting salary will be $18,000/year.
