POSTGRADUATE/POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH ASSISTANT

A three year Post-graduate/Postdoctoral position funded by the
BBSRC is available immediately in the laboratory of Professor
Philip Ingham at the University of Sheffield, UK. The project aim is
to understand the function of novel T-box (tbx) genes in the
development of the zebrafish. This will involve the isolation of cDNA
and genomic clones, generation of fusion proteins for use in DNA
binding assays and as immunogens and expression and functional
analyses of tbx-cDNAs in developing embryos. Experience with
zebrafish as a model system would be beneficial, but is not
essential. Prior experience with either library screening, PCR
methods, radiation hybrid or genetic mapping techniques will be
useful; training in other techniques will be provided. Excellent
facilities are available to study zebrafish development at the
molecular and genetic level.
