Research Assistant, Zebrafish Technician:

The Zebrafish International Resource Center located at the 
University of Oregon is seeking a full-time zebrafish laboratory 
technician to assist in molecular biology and the maintenance and 
shipping of mutant strains.  The successful applicant will have a 
Bachelors degree preferably in biology with a knowledge of 
genetics.  Skills in the areas of  fish husbandry, aquaculture and 
various fabrication techniques are desirable . The job also includes 
some management responsibilities, computer skills, and general 
trouble-shooting.  Some weekend, evening, and holiday hours are 
required. The work requires occasional heavy lifting, repetitive lifting 
of 5 to 10 lbs., and performing tasks in a warm and humid 
environment.  The ability to integrate into a diverse work group is 
essential.  Salary is commensurate with qualifications and 
experience (18K - 21K).
