Zebrafish Technician
The Randall Centre for Molecular Mechanisms of Cell Function
MRC Muscle & Cell Motility Unit
Applications are invited for the post of zebrafish technician tenable
in the MRC Muscle & Cell Motility Unit at the Randall Centre for
Molecular Mechanisms of Cell Function, Guy=92s Campus, King=92s
College London. The technician will work in the research group of
Dr Simon Hughes, supporting the group=92s work in zebrafish
developmental genetics to understand how muscle tissue is
patterned in the embryo and adapts during maturation. Main
responsibilities will be the upkeep of zebrafish stock collection and
aquarium equipment in our new 1000 tank facility, record keeping,
performing genetic crosses and genotyping. Training in molecular
biology and light microscopy is preferred, as is experience of fish
husbandry. A first degree in a biological science is essential.
The annual salary for this potentially permanent band 5 post will be
in the range of =A318,491-20,091 inclusive of =A32,491 London
Allowance, according to experience. The MRC operates a
performance-related salary scheme.
