LUDWIG INSTITUTE FOR CANCER RESEARCH, MELBOURNE
BRANCH

POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH FELLOW

The Colon Molecular and Cell Biology Laboratory at the Melbourne
Branch of the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research has developed
a new research program aimed at identifying novel genes involved
in intestinal development. One of our major initiatives is to
understand the development of the zebrafish gastrointestinal
system with the aim of conducting a genome wide mutagenesis
screen for intestinal mutants in this organism. Other zebrafish-
based studies at the Institute include a genetic screen designed to
identify genes involved in early haematopoietic development. The
Branch was recently equipped with a new aquarium and there is a
long-term commitment to research in this area.

This project has created a substantial opportunity for a post-
doctoral Research Fellow with a background in developmental
biology/genetics. Applications from candidates with experience in
zebrafish research will be particularly welcome. The appointment
will be for three years in the first instance, with a possibility of
extension. Salary will be in accordance with experience and
qualifications up to a maximum of $51,314 (AUS$) pa. The
appointee will be eligible for generous superannuation (SSAU) and
salary packaging benefits.

Applicants should forward a detailed curriculum vitae and the
names and addresses of two professional referees to:
